Crocodile Farm is set in the picturesque Paarl Valley. We invite you to join us for our guided tours, or visit our curio shop where you will find a wide variety of top quality products fashioned from classical and durable leather. Crocodile meat is also sold - the white meat is high in protein and low in fat, and in the East it is believed to have aphrodisiac qualities. Because it has a natural flavor, it is acceptable to many people.


Butterfly World is a paradise for butterflies. In a closed garden environment they fly freely around you as you take a stroll through their world. There are many different species of butterfly with an array of colours that will catch your eye. You may spend as much time as you like getting to know the butterflies and learning to distinguish the different species. Bookings are not essential, but are advisable if you plan on visiting in a large group. The restaurant offers refreshments and light meals and there is a shop which stocks butterfly related items which are available for purchase.


The Giraffe House Wildlife Awareness Centre is a new, privately-owned centre providing easy access to some of our wonderful wildlife and bird species. Focusing mainly on African wildlife, Giraffe House aims to provide a place for people to enjoy a family picnic in the fresh air, whilst experiencing and learning about animals and conservation.



The Lion Park is involved in the re-homing of lions which are kept in intolerable conditions, both locally and overseas. The Park is one of a dedicated handful that opposes the hunting of captive born lion and does everything in its power top acquire lions destined for hunting farms, and provide these animals with a safe haven. The park is situated on 7.5 hectares of ground in the scenic Cape Winelands. One can stroll through the park at your leisure and view these magnificent beasts at eye level or get a bird's eye from one of the raised viewing platforms.


The Taalmonument acknowledges the diverse roots of Afrikaans that can be traced back to three continents - Africa, Europa and Asia.
